Hello! In case this is your first time here, then allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Briony. I’m a 30-something blogger, writer, and digital strategist. An Australian by birth and a Francophile-New Yorker at heart, I moved to the UK 10 years ago and now split my time between London (where I work) and Cambridge (where I live with my husband, our cat Coco, and too many books).
I started A Girl, A Style in 2009 as a place to share my favourite things, adventures, and musings on everything from career to shoes. Alongside this blog, I spent the last 15 years working as a political advisor in Westminster, Canberra, and Washington DC, but recently suffered post-#Brexit burnout and decided to take a break to pursue a new direction.
Now I’ve turned my former side-hustle into my full time job and split my time between this blog and freelancing. Right now I oversee the social media and digital strategy for the likes of PORTER Magazine, Net-a-Porter, and The Cambridge Satchel Company, and write for publications such as Travel + Leisure, Departures, and Fortune Magazines, amongst other projects (so I’m just as sleep-deprived as ever, but I wouldn't have it any other way!)
When I’m not on a train or spending too long in front of a screen, I love exploring new places (26 countries and counting), spending weekends in art galleries, watching old Nora Ephron films or Gilmore Girls re-runs, obsessing over the best red lipstick or perfectly cut jeans, tap dancing around the house to show tunes, bike rides around Cambridge, and trying to find the best flat white or afternoon tea in town.
So welcome to my corner of the internet. It's lovely to have you around!
